ADB contracts Primesoft for Asia Pacific Carbon Fund website

Manila, Philippines – August 18, 2009 – The Asian Development Bank contracts Primesoft to develop a website for the Asia Pacific Carbon Fund (APCF), a trust fund established and managed by ADB on behalf of fund participants and which provides upfront co-financing to Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects in ADB's Developing Member Countries (DMCs) for future delivery of certified emission reductions.

The APCF aims to:

• increase the number of clean energy and energy efficiency projects in DMCs
• assist APCF participants in satisfying their legally binding emission reduction commitments under the Kyoto Protocol
• capitalize increased investments from developed countries to improve energy access in the Asia and Pacific region

The website also features database functionalities whereby fund participants keep track and monitor the progress, financing, and documentations of involved CDM projects.
